The barí are the only indigenous people of Venezuela belonging to the great family of Chibchan languages, so significant in the current Republic of Colombia and its ramifications for all of Central America. In Venezuela, they share common territory with Colombia, since over the centuries they have lived in the mountains of the Sierra de Perijá and Los Motilones. In this article, the main contents of the Barí literature, as well as some details about theirs recent history and ethnographic, data are described.Downloads
