Semántica de los clasificadores numerales en el bribri de Coroma

Abstract

This article addresses the semantics of the numeral classifiers that form part of the nominal classification system in Coroma Bribri. First, it provides a detailed description of the uses of every classifier and the meanings they provide to the nominal phrase. At the same time, it aims to explain the less transparent categorizations by applying different cognitive models. Second, it examines the semantic basis and functions of the classifiers in order to systematize the properties they codify.
