Préstamos de origen muisca en Cundinamarca y Boyacá

Abstract

This article shows the results of the research on the Muisca borrowings into Spanish carried out in nine towns of the Departments of Cundinamarca and Boyacá in Colombia. A questionnaire divided into semantic fields was applied in order to collect the data. The quantitative analysis illustrates the total of the Muisca and Hispanic lexemes registered as well as the density of the borrowings in each semantic field. The qualitative analysis brings to light the adaptation of the Muisca lexical borrowings into Spanish as well as other linguistic features identified in the data.
