Through an interview, this text recounts the fieldwork experiences of Dr. Adolfo Constenla Umaña on the indigenous languages of Costa Rica. The stories about his linguistic work begin with his studies of the Maleku (Guatuso) language and continue with studies on Boruca (Brunca), Bribri and Naso (Térraba), as well as his interest for the extintc languages Huetar and Chorotega . In addition, Dr. Constenla tells about his contact with people and indigenous cultures, as well as what has attracted his attention on every language and every speech community.Downloads
