Abstract
The agronomist Álvaro Jiménez Castro has had a distinguished professional career closely linked to coffee cultivation. He served for 18 years as Director of the Costa Rican Coffee Office and has since worked as an international consultant on coffee-related matters, with a particular emphasis on the socioeconomic dimensions of the sector. He’s widely recognized as an authority in the coffee world. He has now, most notably, chosen to distill a significant portion of his experience into this monumental work.
