Abstract

The author poses the railroad service and tbe establishment of public spaces relationship focussing on tbe masculine symbolism associated to the train. The author further rebuilds the world of the railroad work outlining the role of culture and the disputes for power, as a reinforcement to the condition of masculinity among railroad workers.
