Abstract
The article proposes to: 1) Explore, through the analysis of eclesiastic divorce cases, some of the main tendencies and attitudes of Cmtral Vallelt society, concerning the problem of domestic violence from 1750 to 1850; and 2) Re-appraise for that space and period, the representation of costarrican women, as a very pasive human being, folded in domestic activities and subordinated to men authority.
