Abstract
The ways of coping with the threat of AIDS (Aquired Inmune Deficiency Syndrome) and personality charac teristics were evaluated in a survey of 207 homosexual men from metropolitan area of San José, Costa Rica. Three main ways of coping with the threat of AIDS (positive reapraissal confrontive, denial/fatalism and religion) and three main personality characteristics (problem solutíon attitude, control and negativeness) were found. Interrelationships between coping and personality dimensions are dlscussed.
