Resumo
Emoções e sentimentos estão presentes em todos os aspectos da vida humana, incluindo esportes e atividades físicas. No tênis, principalmente por ser um esporte individual e pelas características de jogo, vivencia-se muita emoção. No caso de jogadores jovens ou em idade de formação, eles também são altamente influenciados emocionalmente pelos pais. Para realizar uma análise mais confiável e objetiva dos sentimentos e emoções relacionados ao tênis do que as realizadas anteriormente, foi aplicada a metodologia da análise sentimental, combinada com a análise qualitativa para aperfeiçoar a qualidade dos resultados obtidos. Para tanto, foram realizadas entrevistas pessoais com 9 tenistas e 8 pais, as quais foram transcritas e analisadas utilizando o pacote Syuzhet na linguagem de programação R. Os resultados mostraram que as emoções mais relatadas pelos jogadores e seus pais foram positivas; neste caso, confiança e expectativa, que estavam ligadas às relações sociais vivenciadas no tênis, bem como à prática do esporte e aos valores que ele transmite. Por outro lado, foram demonstradas emoções com valência negativa, como tristeza ou medo, relacionadas ao contexto da competição, à decepção com o desempenho e à empatia dos pais com o nervosismo dos filhos. Em geral, jogar tênis proporciona muitos benefícios emocionais, embora, levado ao extremo, possa trazer certos riscos em idades precoces.
